New Day Sober Living
About New Day Sober Living
New Day Sober Living is a sober living operator in San Antonio, Texas, running seven certified-free but structured recovery residences across Bexar County. Ben Hammond and Clark Cadwallader founded the organization in 2017 on a belief that recovery works best with real discipline behind it, and the company has since grown into one of the larger private sober living networks in the city.
A San Antonio Sober Living Operator
New Day is a housing organization built around one consistent program that runs across every address it operates. Every house follows the same three-phase model and draws on the same clinical partner, so a resident's experience does not depend on which of the seven addresses he or she lands in first.
Seven Sober Homes Across San Antonio
New Day Sober Living operates:
- Spanish Oaks House, on 1527 Spanish Oaks in San Antonio, for men.
- Haltown House, on 1131 Haltown Dr in San Antonio, for men.
- Traditions, on 2038 Oak Vista in San Antonio, for women.
- Arthur's Place, on 2635 Pebble Dawn in San Antonio, for men.
- Briar Oak, on 607 Briar Oak St in San Antonio, for men.

A Three-Phase Model for Every New Day Resident
Residents move through PHP, IOP and Alumni phases. PHP holds to a 9 p.m. weekday curfew, a sponsor requirement within seven days and no overnight passes. IOP opens once a resident works or studies at least 25 hours a week, with a later curfew and two approved passes monthly. Alumni status extends both further and asks a resident to sponsor others as they near independent living.
Clinical Care Alongside New Day's Recovery Housing
New Day Recovery Services, the operator's own outpatient arm, supplies licensed recovery coaches, therapists, psychiatrists and medical providers to residents at every one of its houses, so clinical care and housing are coordinated by one organization instead of two.
Serving Men and Women in Recovery
New Day runs single-gender houses for both men and women, keeping the two programs entirely separate. Men have five addresses to choose from and women have two, and the split keeps house rules and meeting schedules written for one population at each address.
Recovery Housing in Bexar County
All seven houses sit within San Antonio, the seat of Bexar County, which keeps outpatient providers, employers and New Day's own clinical staff within reach of every resident regardless of which house they call home.
Who New Day Sober Living Serves
The program suits someone coming out of detox, residential treatment or a PHP level of care who needs housing built to match that stage and to keep pace as it changes. Anyone who needs on-site medical supervision is a poor match for any of New Day's seven houses.
