Traditions is a women's sober living home in San Antonio, Texas, in Bexar County, operated by New Day Sober Living on Oak Vista. Founded in 2017 by Ben Hammond and Clark Cadwallader, New Day now runs seven houses across the city, and Traditions is the smaller of its two current women's residences.
A Women's Sober House on Oak Vista
Traditions houses women only, which keeps bathrooms, bedrooms and the weekly house meeting single-gender from top to bottom. Oak Vista sits in a residential pocket of San Antonio, and a woman living here shares one program and one set of expectations with everyone else under the roof.
New Day's Three-Phase Recovery Housing Model
New Day moves residents through a PHP, IOP and Alumni sequence. The PHP phase asks for a sponsor within seven days, attendance at clinical programming and a 9 p.m. weekday curfew with no overnight passes. IOP raises the bar to steady employment or school and loosens the curfew and pass allowance, and Alumni status extends both further while asking a resident to sponsor others coming up behind her.

New Day Recovery Services, the operator's clinical arm, supplies outpatient treatment, licensed recovery coaches, therapists, psychiatrists and medical providers to residents of every New Day house, including Traditions, so a woman's clinical care and her housing come from one coordinated source.

San Antonio is the seat of Bexar County and the largest city in South Central Texas, with enough outpatient providers, employers and transit options concentrated in one place that a woman rebuilding a routine after treatment rarely has to leave the county to do it.
