About the Sober House Directory
A Free, Trusted Resource for Recovery Housing
The Sober House Directory is a nationwide resource designed to help individuals in recovery find safe, supportive sober living homes. Whether you're seeking a fresh start, supporting a loved one, or helping a client transition into recovery housing, our goal is to make the process simple, transparent, and accessible.
We know that the path to recovery doesn’t end with treatment. Sober living homes—also known as recovery residences—offer structure, accountability, and community, all of which are essential for long-term sobriety. The Sober House Directory helps make these homes easier to find.
What the Sober House Directory Offers
- Verified Listings: Every home listed is reviewed for basic accuracy and focuses exclusively on recovery housing—no treatment centers, no ads.
- Nationwide Access: Browse homes by state and city, or explore our interactive map to view recovery residences near you.
- Transparency and Integrity: We don’t accept advertising fees or promote service providers. Our mission is to serve the recovery community—not profit from it.
We're Powered by a Mission-Driven Nonprofit
The Sober House Directory is created and maintained by The Vanderburgh Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to recovery housing.
We believe that no one should be denied the opportunity to live in a safe and supportive environment due to lack of information or financial barriers. That’s why we’ve made the Sober House Directory completely free to use—and why we never charge homes to be listed.
How You Can Help
