Briar Oak is a men's sober living home in San Antonio, Texas, in Bexar County, run by New Day Sober Living on Briar Oak Street. It is one of seven houses the operator has built since 2017 under founders Ben Hammond and Clark Cadwallader.

New Day's Three-Phase Recovery Housing Model

Every New Day resident starts in the PHP phase, with a 9 p.m. weekday curfew and a sponsor requirement inside seven days, moves to IOP once employed or enrolled in school at least 25 hours a week, and finishes in Alumni status, sponsoring others while curfews loosen toward the pace of independent living.

A Gym and a Man Cave Inside a Structured House

A house-length gym and a dedicated recreational room are not standard in sober living, and at Briar Oak they give men a physical outlet and a social space that do not require leaving the property, which keeps the earliest and most fragile weeks of recovery contained to a single, supervised address.
