Absolute Ministries

About Absolute Ministries

Absolute Ministries is a faith-based sober living operator headquartered in Pierce County, Washington, running a residential campus of certified men's and women's recovery homes across Bonney Lake, Lake Tapps, Spanaway and Puyallup. The ministry has housed people in recovery since 2009 and now runs ten homes across the four communities.

A Faith-Based Recovery Housing Provider

ABSOLUTE Ministries builds its program around three commitments: steady employment or volunteer work, a personal development workbook every resident completes, and an active connection to a local church. Clinical treatment and counseling come from outside providers; ABSOLUTE Ministries' job is the housing, the structure and the accountability that surrounds it.

Ten Homes Across Bonney Lake, Lake Tapps, Spanaway and Puyallup

ABSOLUTE Ministries operates a cluster of houses across four Pierce County communities:

  • Men's Campus House #2 and Men's Residence, in Bonney Lake.
  • Men's Campus House #4, Men's Campus House #5 and Men's House, in Lake Tapps.
  • Women's House, Women's Campus House #4, Women's Residence and Women's House on 4th Avenue, in Spanaway.
  • Women's House, in Puyallup.

The cluster is deliberately tight. Every house sits within the same stretch of the South Sound, which keeps residents inside one job market, one transit shed and one set of church connections regardless of which house they are assigned to.

Separate Housing for Men and Women

Every ABSOLUTE Ministries residence is single-gender. Men are housed in the Bonney Lake and Lake Tapps campus, and women in Spanaway and Puyallup, so a resident's house is always made up of one population living under one set of rules written for that population.

Voluntary Certification Held Across the Portfolio

ABSOLUTE Ministries has certified its houses through the Washington Alliance for Quality Recovery Residences, the state's NARR affiliate, even though Washington does not require it. Certification obliges written disclosure of rules and fees, a published code of ethics, and a complaint process that runs outside the ministry's own staff.

Applying to an ABSOLUTE Ministries House

Applications go through ABSOLUTE Ministries itself, not to an individual house. A man is considered for any of the ministry's Bonney Lake or Lake Tapps houses, and a woman for its Spanaway or Puyallup houses, which gives the ministry room to place someone where a bed is actually open instead of tying an applicant to one address.

A Pierce County Sober Living Network

Pierce County stretches from Tacoma's job market through the smaller communities where ABSOLUTE Ministries has concentrated its houses, and that geography is part of the design: residents keep access to employers, outpatient providers and the ministry's church network without leaving one corner of the county.
