About this Recovery House

Rea of Hope New Life Apartments 4 is a women's sober living residence on Quarrier Street in Charleston, West Virginia, in Kanawha County. Five women live here at $133 a week, certified at Level 1 by the West Virginia Alliance of Recovery Residences.

The Smallest of the New Life Recovery Homes

Five beds makes this the smallest of the operator's four apartment buildings. It shares a block with New Life Apartments 3 and sits within a few minutes' walk of the group houses on Beauregard Street and Lee Street East. A small building at the lightest certification tier is the last stop in the Rea of Hope system before a woman takes a lease of her own.

Level 1 Sober Living and Independence

Level 1 describes peer-run recovery housing with minimal oversight, where residents hold the rules themselves. The tier exists precisely for this stage: someone employed and stable who benefits from living among other women in recovery but no longer needs a monitored household. It is a deliberate step down from the operator's Level 2 housing.

What Residents Pay

The weekly charge is $133, published as $56 for food and $77 for operating costs, with EBT accepted for food. The figure holds across every Rea of Hope address, so moving between them is a change of structure.

Charleston, Kanawha County and Women's Recovery Housing

Charleston is the state capital and the seat of Kanawha County, and Quarrier Street runs through the middle of it. The courthouse, the family court, the hospital system, the Capitol complex and the regional transit network are all within reach on foot or by one bus. Certified women's beds are the scarcest category of recovery housing in West Virginia, and this operator holds six addresses of them inside a few blocks of the capital's East End.
