About this Recovery House

The YWCA WIND Program Magnone House is a women's sober living home on Marshall Street in Benwood, West Virginia, in Marshall County. Six women live here at $360 a month under Level 2 certification from the West Virginia Alliance of Recovery Residences.

A Six-Bed Women's Recovery Home in Benwood

Benwood is a small Ohio River town a few miles south of Wheeling, in the northern end of Marshall County. Six beds makes this the quieter of the WIND Program's two residences and the only certified recovery housing in the immediate area. A woman who does badly in a downtown setting has a genuinely different option here without leaving the operator or the region.

Level 2 Certification and What It Requires

Level 2 covers monitored recovery housing with structured expectations and clinical care from outside providers. Certification obliges the residence to disclose fees and house rules in writing before move-in, keep a written relapse and discharge policy, follow a published code of ethics, and accept complaints reviewed outside the house. West Virginia has tied state referrals and public funding to certification since 2024.

Fees and Entry

The charge is $360 a month, broken out as $240 for health and wellness and $120 for food, and it is not required at entry.

Medication Support in This Marshall County Sober House

Residents on medication for opioid use disorder are accepted at both of the operator's addresses.

Benwood, Moundsville and the Ohio Valley

Marshall County runs south along the Ohio River from Benwood through Moundsville, the county seat, into the industrial stretch below Wheeling. Wheeling holds the region's hospital, courts and community college a few minutes north, and Ohio is directly across the water. Certified recovery beds are concentrated in Wheeling, so a house in Benwood serves women whose ties are further down the valley.
