About this Recovery House
The H.O.U.S.E. – Duquesne is a coed sober house in Webb City, Missouri, in Jasper County, part of the group of recovery homes operated by The H.O.U.S.E., Inc. The organization has housed people in early recovery in southwest Missouri since 1996.
A Recovery Home in the Webb City and Duquesne Corridor
Duquesne is a small village on the eastern edge of Joplin, and the name on this house points at that stretch of Jasper County. It is a working part of the metro: Range Line Road, the retail and distribution employers along it, and the neighborhoods behind them. A resident here is inside the Joplin economy without paying Joplin rent, and the drive to almost anything a person in early recovery needs runs under fifteen minutes.
Living in a Coed Sober Living Home
This house serves men and women. In practice that means one house culture instead of two, and residents who are accountable to people whose recovery does not look identical to their own. Household rules cover everyone the same way. The trade a resident accepts is a fuller house and less predictability about who is in the next room, and in exchange a bed opens up sooner than it would in a single-gender waiting list.
What The H.O.U.S.E. Sober Homes Provide
The organization supplies housing, structure and peers. It has never presented itself as a treatment provider, and residents keep their own counselors, prescribers and meetings out in the community. That division is worth understanding before applying. Someone who needs supervision, medical monitoring or daily clinical contact is looking for a different level of care. Someone who needs a safe address, a routine and people who will notice a change is looking at exactly this.
Recovery Housing Around Joplin and Carthage
Jasper County's services cluster in two places. Carthage, the county seat, holds the courthouse and the county offices. Joplin holds the hospitals, Missouri Southern State University, the outpatient providers and the bulk of the jobs. Webb City lies between them on Route 171, which is why recovery homes in this county tend to sit here. Residents can hold a court date in Carthage in the morning and a shift in Joplin in the afternoon without a car problem ending both.
Questions Worth Asking This Sober House
Applications are handled by the operator. Ask what the weekly fee is and what it includes, whether a house manager lives on site, how long people typically stay, whether medication for opioid use disorder is accepted, and what a relapse triggers. Missouri does not require recovery residences to be accredited, so the answers a house gives directly are the record a prospective resident actually has.
