About this Recovery House
The H.O.U.S.E. – Annex is a coed recovery home in Webb City, Missouri, in Jasper County, part of the sober living houses operated by The H.O.U.S.E., Inc. across the Joplin area.
An Additional Sober House in the Webb City Group
The Annex functions as part of a group of houses under one operator, which changes what a resident is choosing. An applicant is not picking a single address so much as entering a system with several of them. If the fit is wrong after a month, or a bed opens somewhere better suited, that is a conversation with people who already know the resident instead of a fresh application somewhere else.
Coed Recovery Housing in Jasper County
Men and women live here together under one set of house rules. The arrangement puts a premium on how the house is run, since a mixed household with weak structure fails faster than a single-gender one. Anyone considering this house should ask specifically how the operator handles relationships between residents, how bedrooms are assigned, and who is on site overnight.
Three Decades of Recovery Homes Near Joplin
The organization behind the house started in 1996 and was built by people with their own recovery behind them. It has kept beds open in southwest Missouri through the years when the region had almost nowhere else to send people. That continuity is what a referral source in Joplin values: a caseworker discharging somebody on a Friday needs a house that answers the phone and has room.
Life in Webb City and the Surrounding Metro
Webb City is a Jasper County town of roughly 13,000 with a school district, a hospital campus nearby in Joplin, and easy access to Route 66 and Route 171. Joplin, minutes away, holds Freeman Health System, Mercy Hospital Joplin, Missouri Southern State University and the region's outpatient providers. Carthage, the county seat, holds the courthouse. That spread is small enough to manage without a car for a while and large enough to supply work.
What to Ask This Recovery Residence First
Applications go through the operator. Ask for the fee schedule, the deposit terms and refund policy, the curfew, the drug testing schedule, the medication policy, and the discharge policy. Missouri's voluntary accreditation program runs through the Missouri Coalition of Recovery Support Providers, and a guide to certifying a recovery residence with MCRSP lays out the standard those questions map to.
