About this Recovery House
The H.O.U.S.E. – Airport is a coed recovery residence in Webb City, Missouri, in Jasper County, run by The H.O.U.S.E., Inc. as part of its group of sober living homes serving the Joplin metro.
A Sober House on the Airport Side of the Joplin Metro
The Airport house takes its name from the corner of the metro it serves, out toward the Joplin Regional Airport and the industrial and distribution employers spread around it. That is a working part of Jasper County, and it is where a lot of first jobs after treatment are: warehouse shifts, freight, maintenance, food service on the highway strip. Living within reach of that work is the difference between a plan and a paycheck.
Coed Sober Living Under One Operator
Men and women live here together with one set of house rules. The operator runs several houses in the area and places applicants where there is room and where the fit works, so somebody who calls about this house may end up in another one. That flexibility is the practical advantage of applying to a multi-house organization instead of a single standalone address.
Recovery Homes Built by People in Recovery
The H.O.U.S.E., Inc. dates to 1996 and was put together by people who had been through addiction and did not find housing that worked for them. It describes itself as the last house on the block, and it means that literally: it takes people other places have already turned down. Applicants should understand what that implies about the household. The bar for entry is need and willingness.
Jasper County Services Within Reach
Webb City sits on Route 171 between Joplin and Carthage. Joplin holds two hospital systems, Missouri Southern State University, Crowder College's Webb City area programs and the outpatient behavioral health capacity for the whole region. Carthage holds the county courthouse. Route 66 and Interstate 44 both run nearby, which is why the freight and warehouse work is here in the first place.
Before Applying to This Recovery Home
Placement goes through the operator. Ask the fee, the deposit, the curfew, the testing schedule, the medication policy and the discharge policy, and ask for them in writing. Missouri's Department of Mental Health licenses treatment programs and does not reach standalone recovery residences, so the operator's own disclosure is the document a resident relies on.
