About this Recovery House

Transition House is a men's sober living home in St. Louis, Missouri, an independent city that functions as its own county seat, run by LIV Recovery Sober Living. It is one of six houses the organization operates across the St. Louis metro, also known as Living In Victory.

A Men's Sober House Inside St. Louis

Transition House sits within city limits, giving residents direct access to St. Louis's outpatient providers, courts and public transit, without a commute in from a suburban house. LIV Recovery runs a second men's residence in the city as well, alongside houses in St. Charles and Hazelwood, concentrating its footprint across the metro's core and inner suburbs.

What LIV Recovery Provides Beyond Housing

LIV Recovery Sober Living pairs its houses with a Respite Program for short-term stabilization, outpatient services and a Peer Apprenticeship Program that trains residents for paid recovery-support work. A man at Transition House can move through those programs without leaving the organization's network.

Certification Under Missouri's Voluntary Standard

Missouri has no law requiring a sober living home to certify with anyone, and the Department of Mental Health's licensure applies to clinical treatment facilities; standalone recovery housing falls outside it. The Missouri Coalition of Recovery Support Providers runs the state's voluntary accreditation as its NARR affiliate, and a house outside that list has simply not opted into the voluntary program.

Sober Living in the City of St. Louis

As an independent city and its own county seat, St. Louis concentrates the civic and treatment infrastructure that a resident depends on while rebuilding stability. That density is part of why LIV Recovery placed two of its six houses inside city limits, not only in the suburbs.

Applying to Transition House

LIV Recovery Sober Living handles placement across its network as a single intake. Prospective residents should ask about the weekly cost, how the Respite and Peer Apprenticeship programs work alongside housing, and the organization's approach to medication-assisted recovery.
