About this Recovery House
Bryan's House is a men's sober living home in St. Louis, Missouri, in the city of St. Louis, run by Mo Better Living. It is the largest of the operator's men's houses, with room for fourteen men working a recovery program together under one roof.
A Men's Sober House Run by Mo Better Living
Bryan's House serves men in recovery, and the house holds fourteen beds, more than any other property in the Mo Better Living network. Residents share the cost of a stable address for five hundred dollars a month, split into rooms with shared bathrooms and a common pool table that doubles as the house's social hub. Chores and shared upkeep are part of the arrangement, and a peer support specialist is assigned to every resident who moves in.
Support for Medication-Assisted Recovery
Mo Better Living accepts residents on any form of medication-assisted treatment, including methadone and buprenorphine. That policy matters because sober living in Missouri is not uniform on the question, and a man stabilized on a prescribed medication can lose that stability if a house requires him to stop it before he has somewhere else to live. Bryan's House does not ask him to choose.
Weekly Meetings and House Structure
The house holds a weekly meeting for all residents, and The monthly rate includes WiFi and on-site laundry. A twenty-five dollar application fee applies before move-in. The structure is peer-run: residents look out for each other and for the house between staff visits, which is the model Mo Better Living uses across all five of its properties.
Sober Living in the City of St. Louis
St. Louis operates as its own independent city, and that status concentrates services, employers and transit downtown and along the city's older residential corridors. A man coming out of treatment in St. Louis has outpatient providers, courts and job centers within a short ride of most addresses in the city, which is part of why Mo Better Living has kept its full portfolio inside city limits.
Mo Better Living's Network of Sober Homes
Bryan's House is one of five sober homes Mo Better Living runs in St. Louis. John's House and Bobby's House serve men, and Eleanore's House and Cheryl's House serve women. All five share the same monthly rate, the same peer support model and the same open policy on medication-assisted treatment, so a resident who needs a different house later is choosing among people who already work the same program.
ABOUT US
Recovery supportive homes are group homes for people who are recovering from substance use disorder. People who live in recovery supportive homes have to follow certain rules and contribute to the home by doing chores.
Most importantly, residents must stay sober throughout their stay in the home. Living in this type of environment can support sobriety and help alcoholics or those with substance use disorder adjust to life without their addictions.
Many with substance use disorder use recovery supportive housing to help them transition from rehab to living independently without using drugs or alcohol.
