Sharon House is a women's sober living home on Gravois Avenue in St. Louis, Missouri, run by Keyway Center for Diversion & Reentry as permanent supportive recovery housing for women who have left the justice system.

Permanent Supportive Housing After Incarceration

Sharon House opened in 2020 and holds up to 21 women at a $525 monthly fee, later in the reentry timeline than the operator's transitional houses. Residents commit to a substance-free household and weekly meeting attendance, and the house accepts women at any point after incarceration, not only in the first months after release.

Named for the Program's Founder

The house is named for Sister Sharon Schmitz, one of the founders of what became Keyway Center for Diversion & Reentry, which began in 1997 as the Center for Women in Transition.

A Recovery Residence for Trauma Survivors

Keyway Center builds its housing around the reality that most women entering the justice system have experienced significant trauma, and Sharon House pairs stable, longer-term housing with the operator's trauma-focused behavioral health services.

Recovery Housing in St. Louis

As an independent city and county, St. Louis gives Sharon House residents access to the courts, employers and treatment network the operator's housing navigator uses to place women in permanent housing after their stay.

Missouri Sober Living Certification

Missouri's certification, run through the Missouri Coalition of Recovery Support Providers, is voluntary, and reentry-specific housing serving a defined population commonly operates outside that voluntary system.
