About this Sober House

United House for Veterans is a men's sober living home in the Dorchester section of Boston, Massachusetts, in Suffolk County. It is certified through the Massachusetts Alliance for Sober Housing at a capacity of nineteen residents and is operated by Faith House Sober Living Communities.

A Men's Sober House in Dorchester

This sober house serves men in recovery, including veterans, in a household of nineteen. Dorchester's dense residential grid keeps public transit, outpatient providers and employment within reach without a car.

Support Focused on Veterans in Recovery

The house's name signals a focus on veterans working through addiction alongside civilian residents, a population that often carries its own set of service-related stressors on top of recovery itself.

What MASH Certification Establishes

Certification through MASH, the state's affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences, requires a published code of ethics, disclosed fees and rules before move-in, and an outside complaint process. It places the house at NARR Level II, with a manager on site while residents pursue outpatient treatment elsewhere.

Part of the Faith House Sober Living Family

United House for Veterans is one of several certified men's homes Faith House Sober Living Communities runs in the Dorchester area, giving residents access to a broader network if a different house is ever a better fit.
