Voluntary Sober Living Certification in Massachusetts

Massachusetts does not require sober homes to certify, and the law behind the state's voluntary program, M.G.L. c.17 s.18A, says explicitly that an uncertified house may still operate and advertise lawfully. The Massachusetts Alliance for Sober Housing runs that certification, and a house that holds it has committed to written fees and rules and an outside complaint process.
