About this Recovery House
The Healing House for Women is a certified women's sober house in Miramar, Florida, in Broward County, founded in 2018 by Sarah and Ashley, both members of the local recovery community.
A Women's Sober House on SW 64th Avenue
The Healing House for Women serves women eighteen and older from a residence on SW 64th Avenue in Miramar. Co-founder Ashley is a Certified Addictions Counselor, and the house pairs that clinical background with the lived experience both founders bring from their own recovery, a combination that shapes how the household is run day to day.
Certified Through Florida's Recovery Residence Program
This residence is certified by the Florida Association of Recovery Residences, the only body Florida's Department of Children and Families has approved to certify recovery housing. Certification obligates the house to a published code of ethics, written disclosure of fees and rules before move-in, and an outside process for reviewing complaints.
Structure, Testing and Life Skills
Residents live under a program built on structure, accountability, random drug and alcohol testing, and regular meetings, alongside life-skills work that prepares women for independent living after they leave. The house also connects residents to outside community resources for employment, transportation, food assistance and relapse-prevention education, treating the sober house as a hub that connects residents to a wider support network.
A Community-Supported Recovery Home
The Healing House for Women runs partly on donated support, covering scholarships for women who cannot pay full fees along with everyday needs like bus passes, medication co-pays, clothing and hygiene items. That structure lets the house take in women who might otherwise be turned away by a strictly fee-based sober home.

More About The Sober House
If the resident presents to be in financial crisis, The Healing House for Women offers scholarships of $350.00 which includes move-in costs and the first week of rent. We will provide food until assistance is received through food stamps. We will provide hygiene products and clothing if needed. Once the tenant resides at The Healing House for Women past their scholar shipped time frame, their balance will start to accrue.
They are expected to pay their balance in full once they have received their first paycheck. If the resident appears unmotivated to seek employment and/or is not in compliance with program rules and guidelines, they will be discharged.
