The Healing House for Women
About The Healing House for Women
The Healing House for Women is a sober living operator in Miramar, Florida, founded in 2018 by Sarah and Ashley to provide certified recovery housing for women across Broward County.
A Women-Founded Broward County Sober Living Operator
Sarah and Ashley started the organization out of their own recovery, and Ashley's credential as a Certified Addictions Counselor adds a clinical layer to a program otherwise built on peer experience. That founder-led structure means decisions about admissions, fees and house rules are made by people who have lived through what residents are going through.
A Program Built on Structure and Outside Support
The organization runs its housing on structure, accountability, random drug and alcohol testing, and regular meetings, combined with active connections to community resources for employment, transportation, food assistance and relapse-prevention education. It also accepts donated support to fund scholarships and cover residents' basic needs, a model that widens who the house can serve beyond women who can pay a full fee upfront.
Certified Recovery Housing for Women
The organization's residence is certified through the Florida Association of Recovery Residences, the sole body Florida's Department of Children and Families has approved to certify recovery housing statewide. That certification commits the operator to a published code of ethics and written disclosure of fees and rules before move-in.
Serving Women Across Broward County
Based in Miramar, in southwest Broward County, the organization sits within reach of Fort Lauderdale, the county seat, and the dense recovery and outpatient treatment network along the South Florida coast, with Broward County Transit connecting residents countywide.
Reaching The Healing House for Women
Women seeking housing, or providers making a referral, apply directly through the organization. Worth asking: how the scholarship and donation-funded support works for someone who cannot pay full fees, what the testing and meeting requirements look like week to week, and how the house connects residents to outside services like transportation and employment support.
