About Apricity

Apricity is a Fox Cities recovery organization based in Neenah, Wisconsin, running four certified sober living homes and two residential treatment houses across Winnebago and Outagamie counties.

A Fox Valley Operator With a Full Continuum

Most sober living operators are strictly a housing business, referring residents out for any clinical care they need. Apricity runs both ends: residential treatment at Mooring House and Casa Clare in Appleton, and sober living in a separate set of homes for people who have finished treatment and need a supported address next. A resident moving from one to the other stays inside one organization the whole time.

The Six Apricity Houses

Apricity operates six residences in the Fox Cities:

  • Ohana, in Neenah, for women.
  • Ola, in Appleton, for women.
  • Mahalo, in Neenah, for men.
  • Mana, in Neenah, for men.
  • Casa Clare, in Appleton, the women's residential treatment house.
  • Mooring House, in Appleton, the men's residential treatment house.

Neenah sits in Winnebago County and Appleton in Outagamie County, and the two cities are minutes apart along the same Fox Valley corridor, so moving between houses does not mean leaving the region's job market, outpatient providers or transit.

A Staged Model for Men's Sober Living

Mahalo and Mana are not interchangeable options. Mahalo is where men in early recovery start, and residents move to Mana, a peer-run house, after roughly three months at Mahalo. That structure gives a resident a visible next step instead of an open-ended stay, and it lets the men who have already logged three sober months set the tone in the house that follows. On the treatment side, residents typically begin with an intensive inpatient phase of about 30 days built around daily group therapy, then move into transitional and apartment-based housing, with aftercare continuing for up to twelve weeks after they leave.

Separate Housing for Men and Women

Ohana and Ola house women exclusively, Mahalo and Mana house men exclusively, and the two treatment houses are single-gender as well. Apricity keeps the two populations in entirely separate residences instead of separate wings of one building, which is the more common and more defensible structure among Wisconsin operators serving both genders.

Certification and Registration in Wisconsin

Wisconsin has no state license for a sober living home. The Wisconsin Association of Sober Housing, the state's affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences, certifies residences on a voluntary basis, and all four Apricity sober living homes appear on its certified list at NARR Level II with seven beds each. The Department of Health Services keeps a separate voluntary registry that is self-attested and carries no inspection behind it, and the same four houses are registered there. Neither list is mandatory, and a house's absence from either says nothing about how it is run.

Where the Houses Are, and Are Not, Published

Apricity publishes street addresses for its two Appleton treatment houses but not for its four sober living homes, which follows Wisconsin practice: neither WASH nor the state registry publishes a street for any recovery residence. Placement in a sober living house runs through Apricity directly, and a prospective resident or a referring case manager should expect to confirm the location once an application moves forward.

Recovery Housing for the Fox Cities

Appleton and Neenah anchor a metro area along Lake Winnebago's northern shore, with Oshkosh a short distance south as the Winnebago County seat. Outpatient clinics, the courts and a diversified regional job market all sit inside this stretch, which is why a resident moving between Apricity's own houses, or referred in from treatment elsewhere in the Fox Valley, does not have to leave the area to keep every appointment.
