About this Recovery House

Mana is a men's sober living home in Neenah, Wisconsin, in Winnebago County, run by Apricity Services as the peer-led second stage of its men's recovery housing program.

A Peer-Run Sober House for Men

Men move into Mana after roughly three months at Mahalo, Apricity Services' first-stage men's home in the same city. By the time a resident arrives at Mana he has already logged sober time inside the operator's system, and the house runs with more peer leadership and less day-to-day oversight than the house he came from. That progression gives a resident something concrete to work toward instead of an indefinite stay in the same structure.

A Second Stage, Not a Separate Program

Mana and Mahalo share an operator, a city and a population, and the difference between them is structural, not clinical. Mahalo carries more built-in supervision for men early in a stay, and Mana hands more of that responsibility to residents themselves once they have shown they can carry it. A man who is not ready for that shift stays at Mahalo longer, and the decision is made house to house instead of on a fixed calendar.

Neenah's Place in the Fox Valley

Neenah sits on Lake Winnebago's north shore, close enough to Appleton and Oshkosh that residents at Mana keep the same access to outpatient providers, courts and entry-level employers that the rest of the Fox Valley depends on. Oshkosh, the Winnebago County seat, is a short drive south.

Applying Through Apricity Services

Apricity Services does not publish a street address for Mana, and placement runs through the operator directly instead of through a public listing. Because Apricity also runs residential treatment under the same organization, a man referred from one of its own clinical programs can move into Mana without changing providers partway through his recovery.

Recovery Housing Certification in Wisconsin

No state license governs sober living in Wisconsin. Certification through the Wisconsin Association of Sober Housing and registration through the state's Department of Health Services are both voluntary, and neither one inspects or endorses a house the way a state license would. A resident or family member evaluating Mana should ask Apricity Services directly which of the two, if either, it currently holds.
