About this Recovery House

Casa Clare is a women's residential recovery house in Appleton, Wisconsin, in Outagamie County, operated by Apricity as the women's side of its residential treatment program for the Fox Valley.

A Women's Residence in Appleton

Casa Clare houses women only, which settles the basics that matter most day to day: bathrooms, house meetings and common space stay single-gender, and the house schedule is built around one population instead of two competing sets of needs. Appleton is the seat of Outagamie County and the largest city in the Fox Valley, so residents keep access to outpatient providers, employers and the county court system without leaving the area they know.

What the Residential Program Includes

Residents begin with an intensive inpatient phase of roughly 30 days anchored by daily group therapy. From there Apricity moves women into transitional housing and eventually into an apartment-based program for those ready to live with less day-to-day structure, with aftercare support continuing for up to twelve weeks after a resident moves out.

Part of a Six-House Network

Apricity also runs Mooring House, the men's residential house in Appleton, and four sober living homes in the Fox Cities: Ohana and Ola for women, Mahalo and Mana for men. A woman finishing treatment at Casa Clare who needs a sober living placement next deals with one organization instead of starting a search over, and a family member trying to place someone from out of state has a single point of contact.

Certification and Registration

Wisconsin does not license sober living homes, and no home in the state is required to carry any credential to operate. The Wisconsin Association of Sober Housing certifies residences that opt in, and it lists all four Apricity sober living homes at NARR Level II; the Department of Health Services keeps a separate, self-attested registry that involves no inspection. A residential treatment house sits under a different regulatory regime than a sober living home, and a family should ask Apricity directly which record applies to a given placement.

Appleton and the Fox Valley Recovery Network

Appleton anchors the Fox Valley alongside Neenah, Menasha and Oshkosh, a corridor that carries the region's clinics, employers and courts within a short drive of one another. Winnebago County's seat, Oshkosh, sits just south along Lake Winnebago, putting most of what a resident needs to rebuild a routine around work, meetings and appointments inside the same stretch of highway.
