About this Recovery House

Serenity House is a women's recovery residence on Reality Road in Mount Hope, West Virginia, in Raleigh County. Eight women live here at Level 2 certification from the West Virginia Alliance of Recovery Residences, and admission is open only to graduates of the operator's twelve-month Level 3 program.

A Graduate Women's Sober House on the Safehouse Campus

Eight beds, all of them held by women who have completed a year in the Sparrow's Nest program on the same property. That admission rule makes this the most tightly defined household in the portfolio: everyone has done the same twelve months, and the reduced structure here is the reward for it. Moving between the two means walking across the campus.

What Level 2 Certification Signals After Level 3

Level 2 describes monitored recovery housing with structured expectations and clinical care from outside providers, a deliberate step down from the supervised programming of Level 3. An operator that holds both designations on one campus can lower the level of oversight at the point a resident earns it, without asking her to change city, staff or peer group.

Fees for Program Graduates

No deposit is required. Weeks one through four run at $100, paid biweekly, and from week five residents pay twenty-five percent of income to a cap of $125 a week. Charging graduates less than the program they came from puts the margin where a woman needs it most, at the point she is saving toward her own place.

Vivitrol is accepted across the campus.

Mount Hope, Beckley and Southern West Virginia

Mount Hope sits on the Route 19 corridor in northern Raleigh County, between Beckley and the New River Gorge. Beckley, the county seat fifteen miles south, holds the courthouse, Raleigh General Hospital and the Beckley VA Medical Center. This campus holds six certified residences at one address, which makes it one of the largest single concentrations of certified recovery housing in southern West Virginia.
