About this Recovery House

Angela's House is a women's sober living home on Twelve Steps Court in Kearneysville, West Virginia, in Berkeley County. Twelve women live here at $200 a week, certified at Level 2 by the West Virginia Alliance of Recovery Residences and operated by Semper Liberi, Inc.

The Operator's Women's Recovery Home in the Eastern Panhandle

This is the only women's residence in a four-house portfolio, which makes its twelve beds a meaningful share of the certified women's capacity in Berkeley County. The gender restriction settles the household questions in one decision: shared space, house meetings and rules are all written for one population. Twelve Steps Court also carries the operator's largest men's house, run as an entirely separate household.

Level 2 Certification for Women's Recovery Housing

Level 2 describes monitored recovery housing with structured expectations, where clinical services come from providers elsewhere. Certification requires the residence to disclose fees and rules in writing before move-in, hold a written relapse and discharge policy, follow a published code of ethics, and accept complaints reviewed outside the house. For a woman choosing sober living from inside a treatment program, those are the terms she can verify without visiting.

What It Costs

A $200 deposit and $200 a week. The same schedule applies at every Semper Liberi address.

Medication Support for Women in Berkeley County

Medication for opioid use disorder is accepted. Women on buprenorphine or methadone are the hardest group to place in West Virginia sober living, and prescribing capacity in the Eastern Panhandle sits mainly in Martinsburg, a short drive east.

Kearneysville and Eastern Panhandle Recovery Housing

Kearneysville lies between Martinsburg and Charles Town in the eastern corner of West Virginia, closer to Washington than to Charleston. Martinsburg is the seat of Berkeley County, holding the courthouse, Berkeley Medical Center and the VA hospital. The region's economy runs on the Interstate 81 corridor and commuter traffic into Maryland and Virginia, which gives a woman rebuilding a working life here a different labor market from anywhere else in the state.
