Quarrier Street runs east to west through downtown Charleston and into the East End, carrying a notable share of the city's certified recovery housing from several different operators. The house sits a few blocks from the operator's Level 2 residence on Washington Street East.

What Level 1 Certification Means

Level 1 describes peer-run recovery housing with minimal external oversight, where residents set and enforce the household expectations themselves and no on-site staffing is required. It suits a man who is working and stable and no longer needs a monitored household. Someone earlier in recovery would enter through the operator's Level 2 house first and move here afterward.

The Entry Cost

A non-refundable $375 move-in fee applies. Keeping the entry cost identical across both houses means a transfer between them is a change of structure.

Residents on medication for opioid use disorder are accepted at both Spartan House addresses.

Charleston Area Medical Center, the family court and the valley transit hub are all within reach on foot or by one bus.
