About this Recovery House

Seed Sower Village is a women's sober living home on Holliday Run Road in Alderson, West Virginia, in Greenbrier County. Sixteen women live here at $120 a week under Level 3 certification from the West Virginia Alliance of Recovery Residences.

A Sixteen-Bed Women's Recovery Home in Greenbrier County

This is the only Seed Sower residence that houses women without children, and at sixteen beds it is tied as the largest in the portfolio. Alderson is a small town on the Greenbrier River in the southeastern corner of the state, and a certified women's residence of this size is a substantial presence in a rural county with very few alternatives.

Level 3 Recovery Housing and What It Requires

Level 3 describes supervised recovery housing with structured programming and administrative oversight. The certification behind it obliges the residence to disclose its rules in writing before entry, hold a written relapse and discharge policy, and accept complaints reviewed outside the program's own management. For a woman committing to a structured program in a rural county, those obligations are the checkable part.

The Weekly Fee

Residents pay $120 a week, published as including a $45 meal fee and $75 for programming. The same schedule applies at the operator's Level 3 residence in Montgomery.

Alderson, Greenbrier County and Southeastern West Virginia

Alderson straddles the Greenbrier River on the Greenbrier and Monroe county line, on the Amtrak Cardinal route between Charleston and Washington. Lewisburg, the county seat, is about twenty miles east and holds the courthouse, Greenbrier Valley Medical Center and the region's outpatient providers. The county covers a wide rural area with limited transit, so a residence here suits a woman whose ties, family and court obligations are already in southeastern West Virginia.

Seed Sower Sober Homes Elsewhere

The operator runs three other certified residences, in Montgomery, Beckley and Rainelle, all of which house women with their children. A resident whose circumstances change has somewhere inside the same organization to go.
