Spartan House

About Spartan House

Spartan House is a men's sober living operator in Charleston, West Virginia, running two certified recovery residences in Kanawha County. The two houses hold twenty-seven beds between them and sit at different certification levels, which lets the operator move a resident from structure into independence without changing organizations.

A Charleston Recovery Housing Provider

Both residences sit in Charleston's East End, the district running from downtown out past the state Capitol. Charleston holds more certified recovery beds than any city in West Virginia, and an operator working entirely inside it keeps residents within reach of the courthouse, the family court, Charleston Area Medical Center and the valley transit network throughout a stay.

Spartan House Recovery Homes

  • Spartan House on Washington Street East, a fourteen-bed men's residence at Level 2.
  • Spartan House 2 on Quarrier Street, a thirteen-bed men's residence at Level 1.

Two Levels of Men's Sober Living

The Washington Street house carries Level 2 certification, describing monitored housing with structured expectations. Quarrier Street sits at Level 1, the lightest tier the state recognizes, where residents largely hold the rules themselves. A man can step down in oversight when he earns it while keeping the same operator, the same neighborhood and the same peer group.

What It Costs to Move In

A non-refundable $375 move-in fee applies at both addresses, covering the first three weeks at the Washington Street house, with $500 a month thereafter. Publishing what the entry fee actually buys tells an applicant how far his first payment gets him.

Certification and Medication Policy

Both residences hold certification from the West Virginia Alliance of Recovery Residences, the state's affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences, and both accept residents on medication for opioid use disorder.
