Baker House is a women's sober living home on Gravois Avenue in St. Louis, Missouri, run by Keyway Center for Diversion & Reentry for women transitioning out of incarceration.

Transitional Housing for Women Leaving Incarceration

Baker House opened in 2005 as apartment-style transitional housing, holding up to 12 women who are currently justice-involved or within six months of release. Residents pay a $400 monthly fee once employed, with case management and vocational support built into the stay.

A Reentry-Focused Sober House

Unlike a general sober living home, Baker House is built specifically for women coming out of the justice system, many of whom are also managing trauma from that experience. Keyway Center's staff work alongside residents on housing stability, employment and behavioral health, treating the address as one part of the program instead of the whole of it.

Recovery Housing in St. Louis

St. Louis functions as an independent city and its own county, giving Baker House residents access to the courts, employers and outpatient providers a reentry population depends on most heavily in the first months after release.

Missouri Sober Living Certification

Missouri's certification for recovery residences, through the Missouri Coalition of Recovery Support Providers, is voluntary, and specialized reentry housing commonly operates outside that system without it reflecting on quality.

Two Sister Houses Under Keyway Center

Baker House shares its operator with Schirmer House, another transitional residence, and Sharon House, a permanent supportive housing option for women further along in reentry.
