About this Recovery House

Louisiana is a men's sober living home in St. Louis, Missouri, one of four guest houses Mission Gate Ministry runs in the city for men in recovery. Together the four houses hold roughly three dozen residents inside the city limits.

A Men's Guest House in St. Louis

Louisiana is one of Mission Gate Ministry's urban men's residences, set apart from the ministry's rural ranch properties in Cuba and Sullivan. An in-city placement puts residents closer to entry-level work, public transit and outpatient providers from day one, which suits a man who needs a job before he needs open land and chores.

Mission Gate Ministry's Faith-Based Recovery Model

Residents at Louisiana follow the same Christian, long-term residential program the ministry runs at every address: structured days, a statement of faith, and a path toward graduation and family reunification, with no fixed short-term stay. Men apply directly to the ministry and are placed among its St. Louis houses by availability.

Recovery Housing in the City of St. Louis

St. Louis is an independent city and its own county-equivalent, with the treatment providers, courts and transit network that come with being the region's urban core. A St. Louis sober house gives a resident access to that network without the commute a rural Missouri placement would require.

Missouri Sober Living Certification

The Missouri Coalition of Recovery Support Providers certifies Missouri recovery residences on a voluntary basis, and a home's absence from that roster is not a negative finding. Louisiana is operated by Mission Gate Ministry, a certified-eligible operator running housing across four Missouri counties.

Mission Gate Ministry's Other St. Louis Houses

Louisiana shares the city with three sibling houses under the same operator: Nebraska, Osage and Daniel's House, all serving men. A resident who needs a different set of housemates can raise it with a ministry that already runs all four.

ABOUT US Mission Gate offers programs at facilities for men both in rural Missouri and in the City of St. Louis. Our nine-month (or longer) programs help men begin new lives through Christ and prepare to be reunited with their families. We accept men who are newly released from prison or coming out of addiction, who understand that Mission Gate is a Christ-centered program, and who have submitted an application.
