About this Sober House
Brook Retreat for Men is a men's sober living program in Plympton, Massachusetts, in Plymouth County, run by The Brook Retreat, which also operates a women's program in Weymouth.
A Men's Sober Living Program in Plympton
This program runs a Three-Phase Twelve Step Immersion structure with daily programming, 24-hour supervision, drug and alcohol testing, and employment counseling, aimed at men working through early recovery in a setting removed from the distractions of a city.
A Rural Setting Outside Boston
Plympton is a small, quiet town in Plymouth County, and the operator describes the setting as an escape from distractions during the intensive first phase of the program. That distance from a city center is part of the program's design, not an incidental detail.
A Phased Path Through Recovery
Residents move through the program's three phases with structured daily programming and regular testing built in at every stage, giving the house a clear sense of progression.
Plymouth County Recovery Housing
Plympton sits in Plymouth County, a largely rural county south of Boston, and the program's residents draw on the broader county's outpatient and employment resources as they move through the later phases.
A Women's Program in Weymouth
The Brook Retreat also runs a women's Twelve-Step Immersion program in Weymouth, in Norfolk County, under the same Twelve-Step Immersion model with a program built specifically for women.
The Brook Retreat's men's sober living is located in the tranquil town of Plympton, Plymouth, Massachusetts. It offers the perfect escape from distractions while you work through the intensive first phase of the program. Once a sober living guest has worked through steps 1-7, they will find that employment and all other needs are found a quick drive away in Plymouth, Massachusetts. We have had sober house guests who work in downtown Boston to those that work at restaurants 10 minutes away. Reintegrating back into school, work, or volunteering is required of all guests at the program once they have completed phase one.
The Brook Retreat houses are educational, highly structured sober-living environments.  Aside from drug-testing and supervision, their guests will be engaged in the life-changing process of the Twelve Steps. The sober living guests learn, apply, and experience the Twelve Steps. They will learn honesty, accountability, and how to lead purposeful lives.
