Evergreen House, Inc has operated continuously since April 1998, and in that time it has housed more than 1,500 homeless men in recovery from throughout New England. That history is the organization's core credential: a nonprofit that has run the same mission for close to three decades in one Massachusetts county.

Two Homes, Two Phases of Recovery

The organization runs two residences that work together as a single program. Evergreen House itself, on Cranberry Highway in East Wareham, is the certified Phase One residence, with mandatory group meetings and close supervision. The Marc Thomas Rose House, on Cherry Street in nearby Wareham, is the Phase Two graduate home for men who have progressed out of Evergreen House proper.

Certification Through MASH

Evergreen House, Inc's primary residence holds Level II certification from the Massachusetts Alliance for Sober Housing, committing the organization to a published code of ethics, written fee and rule disclosure, and an outside complaint process.

Serving Homeless Men in Recovery from Across New England

The organization's mission specifically targets men who came into recovery without stable housing, drawing residents from well beyond Plymouth County.

A Two-Phase Model for Long-Term Recovery

Moving a resident from a highly structured first phase into a less restrictive graduate house, without requiring him to change organizations or leave the area, gives Evergreen House, Inc a continuity that a single-house operator cannot offer.
