The Hope Center is a sober living operator in Lexington, Kentucky, running certified recovery housing in Fayette County. The Hope Center operates two sober living homes in Lexington:

• George Privett Recovery Center for Men, on West Loudon Avenue, running since 1996 with more than 1,000 graduates.
• Ball-Quantrell Jones Recovery Center for Women, on Versailles Road, operating since 2002.

Both houses have operated for decades under the same organization, which gives The Hope Center an unusually long institutional track record for a Kentucky recovery housing provider.

Separate Housing for Men and Women

The Hope Center runs its men's and women's housing as separate households at separate addresses. Men apply to George Privett Recovery Center, and women apply to Ball-Quantrell Jones Recovery Center. Keeping the two apart means each house's rules, meetings and shared space are built around one population.

Kentucky's Mandatory Certification Standard

Kentucky requires recovery residences to be certified through the Kentucky Recovery Housing Network, and state agencies, their contractors and health providers are barred from referring anyone to a house that has not gone through that process.
