The Able House

The Able House is operated by The Able Place Inc, a Massachusetts sober living provider running two certified recovery residences in the McKnight section of Springfield, in Hampden County. The organization operates one house for men and one for women, both holding MASH certification at NARR Level II.

A Springfield Sober Living Operator

The Able Place Inc built its program around a name it applies to residents' expected conduct: respectable, accountable and dependable. Every resident across both houses is expected to hold a job and participate in a local 12-step program.

The Able Place Inc runs:

• A women's house on Bowdoin Street.
• A men's house on St. James Avenue.

Both sit in the historic McKnight neighborhood, close to Springfield Technical Community College and American International College.

Certification Held at Every Address

Both Able House locations carry NARR Level II certification through the Massachusetts Alliance for Sober Housing, which requires a published code of ethics, disclosed fees and rules, and a documented relapse and discharge policy.

Serving Springfield and Hampden County

Springfield is the largest city in Hampden County and the region's hub for treatment and outpatient services. The Able Place Inc has concentrated both of its houses in the same McKnight neighborhood.
