About New Foundations Recovery Housing

New Foundations Recovery Housing is a sober living operator based in Cincinnati, Ohio, certifying recovery homes for men and women across Hamilton County.

A Cincinnati Recovery Housing Provider Since 2009

New Foundations Recovery Housing is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit built around a simple description of its own purpose: laying out the steppingstones from active addiction to a sturdy recovery through stability, accountability, community and responsibility. The organization supplies housing, structure and peer accountability, while clinical treatment and outpatient care come from providers elsewhere in the city.

Eight Certified Sober Homes in Cincinnati

New Foundations operates eight residences in Cincinnati, each certified by Ohio Recovery Housing at the Managed level:

  • Iliff House, for men, MAT-friendly.
  • Gilsey House, for men.
  • Harris House, for men, in Price Hill.
  • Considine House, for men, MAT-friendly.
  • West Eighth House, for men, MAT-friendly, in Price Hill.
  • McPherson House, for women.
  • St. Lawrence House, for women, MAT-friendly, supports mothers with children.
  • The Castle, for women, the operator's largest residence and home to its intake office.

The network splits roughly evenly between men's and women's housing, and several homes are built specifically to accept residents on medication-assisted treatment rather than excluding them.

Ohio Recovery Housing Certification at the Managed Level

All eight Cincinnati residences carry certification through Ohio Recovery Housing, the state's NARR affiliate, at the Managed level, which commits the operator to a published code of ethics, disclosed fees and rules, and a relapse and discharge policy an outside body can review.

One Application, Several Sober Houses

Applications go through New Foundations directly, and a resident who does not fit well in one house, whether over gender, MAT policy or simply the other residents, can be considered for another within the same network rather than starting the search over.

Serving Hamilton County and Beyond

Beyond its eight Cincinnati homes, New Foundations also operates three residences across the river in Kentucky, giving the organization a footprint on both sides of the Ohio River for men and women leaving treatment in the region.
