Noahs Ark Women's Recovery Home

About this Recovery Home

Noahs Ark is a women's sober living home in San Antonio, Texas, in Bexar County. It carries Level II certification from the Texas Recovery Oriented Housing Network and is operated by Mastermind Recovery.

A Women's Sober House in San Antonio

Noahs Ark is one of six Mastermind Recovery houses in San Antonio, all of them single-gender and all certified at the same level. Like the operator's other women's homes, it runs as a single-gender household with its own set of housemates and its own house meeting schedule.

What Level II Certification Means at Noahs Ark

Certification through the Texas Recovery Oriented Housing Network commits the house to a published code of ethics, disclosed fees and rules before move-in, and a complaint process outside the house itself. Level II describes a monitored model, with oversight on site and clinical needs handled through outside or affiliated providers. For a family evaluating options from outside San Antonio, that is the one fact about the house that can be checked before anyone moves in.

Clinical Support Through Mastermind Recovery

Mastermind Recovery pairs its housing with physician-led care for dual diagnosis, talk therapy and free basic dental care, run by its founders, a psychiatrist and an addiction medicine specialist. A resident at Noahs Ark who needs psychiatric follow-up or dental work does not have to locate a separate provider to get it, which is not the case at most sober living homes.

Recovery Housing in South Central Texas

San Antonio is the seat of Bexar County and the second-largest city in Texas, with a large base of hospitals, outpatient behavioral health providers and entry-level employers concentrated inside Loop 410. A resident leaving treatment elsewhere in South Central Texas typically finds more of everything, jobs, meetings and transit, inside San Antonio than in the surrounding counties.
