Sober living homes are group residences for people who are recovering from addiction. In most instances, people who live in sober homes have to follow certain house rules and contribute to the home by doing chores. Most importantly, residents must stay sober throughout their stay in the home. The Galilee Mission, Inc. founded in 1984 is a non-profit organization that has been providing recovery and hope to adult males who are dependent on drugs and/or alcohol and are in need of residential or other social services. Our focus is to get the resident back on track, employed, communicating with their loved ones and active in the community, forming a positive support system, while living a substance free lifestyle. Galilee Mission is an umbrella for several programs addressing the issues of substance overuse and the life skills needed to achieve recovery. Our programs are licensed by the State of RI Department of Behavioral Health (BHDDH) and by the Department of Health.
