About this Sober House
Hope is Alive Recovery Home TW1 is a women's sober living home in Bixby, Oklahoma, in Tulsa County. Twelve women live here under Hope is Alive Ministries, and the house holds Level 2 certification from the Oklahoma Alliance for Recovery Resources.
A Women's Sober House Along the Arkansas River in Bixby
Bixby sits along the Arkansas River south of Tulsa, a smaller city inside the same metro area that has kept more of its own identity than some of the closer-in suburbs. Hope is Alive's own website groups TW1 with its Tulsa-area houses under the shorter label TW, while the state's certification registry lists it individually as TW1. Both names point at the same address.
Twelve Beds and the Basics of Life in This Sober Living Home
Most bedrooms hold two women, and each resident is given a bed with new bedding, a dresser, a nightstand and a lamp on arrival, plus roughly four feet of hanging space and a defined share of the kitchen. A sobriety coach is assigned to the house and is the first call for anything from a schedule conflict to a bad day.
What OKARR Level 2 Certification Means for This Recovery Home
The Oklahoma Alliance for Recovery Resources, the state's sole recognized certifier and its affiliate of the National Alliance for Recovery Residences, holds a certified house to a published code of ethics, written disclosure of fees and rules before move-in, a documented relapse and discharge policy, and a complaint process independent of the operator. Oklahoma exempts standalone recovery residences from certification. This is a standard TW1 chose to meet.
TW1 and the Ministry's Other Tulsa-Area Recovery Homes
TW1 is one of four Hope is Alive houses in the Tulsa metro: two men's houses in Broken Arrow, and two women's houses split between Bixby and Broken Arrow itself. A woman placed at TW1 who later needs a different household can raise it with a coach already inside the same regional program.
Bible Study, Curriculum and the Weekly Schedule in This Sober House
Residents attend a Monday night Bible study for the first six months in the program, a Wednesday curriculum session, and a Sunday speaker meeting for the full length of their stay. Full-time work, school or steady volunteering is expected within three weeks of moving in, and thirty twelve-step meetings are expected in the first thirty days, with a sponsor to follow within six months.
Recovery Housing in the Greater Tulsa Metro
Hope is Alive advertises its Tulsa-area houses as reaching residents from across Broken Arrow, Jenks, Bixby, Owasso, Glenpool, Sand Springs, Catoosa, Skiatook, Muskogee and Collinsville. Tulsa, the county seat, sits a short drive north along U.S. 64 and supplies the region's larger job market and outpatient care, while Bixby itself keeps a smaller, more residential pace for the women living at TW1.
