LOVE HOUSE Men's Recovery House

About this Recovery House

Love House is a men's sober living home in Portsmouth, Ohio, certified by Ohio Recovery Housing and serving Scioto County. It is certified at the Peer-Run level and holds five beds.

A Peer-Run Sober Living Home in Portsmouth

Peer-Run is Ohio Recovery Housing's least staff-intensive level, meaning residents themselves hold most of the day-to-day responsibility for running the house, from chores to house meetings. Five beds keeps that self-governance workable, since a small group can hold each other accountable without a large staff presence.

What Peer-Run Certification Still Requires of a Recovery Residence

Even without daily staff oversight, certification obligates a published code of ethics, fees and house rules disclosed before move-in, a written relapse and discharge policy, and a complaint process that runs outside the house. The residence is wheelchair accessible as well.

Portsmouth is the seat of Scioto County, and its downtown, courts and Southern Ohio Medical Center sit within the same city as the house, so residents can meet most obligations without leaving Portsmouth itself.
