About this Recovery House

Tolerance House is a men's sober living home in New Boston, Ohio, certified by Ohio Recovery Housing and serving Scioto County. It is certified at the Managed level and holds five beds.

A Managed Sober Living Home in New Boston

New Boston sits immediately alongside Portsmouth on the Ohio River, sharing the county's courts, hospital and services while remaining its own community with a smaller, quieter footprint. Five beds and Managed-level staff oversight give the house a scale that suits that setting.

What Managed Certification Requires of This Recovery Residence

The Managed level places staff oversight over a household residents largely run themselves, with treatment left to outside providers. Ohio Recovery Housing requires a published code of ethics, disclosed fees and rules, a documented relapse and discharge policy, and a complaint process outside the house. The residence is wheelchair accessible.

New Boston's Recovery Housing Ties to Scioto County

New Boston has its own identity as a former steel and coke-manufacturing community along the river, but county services, including the Scioto County Courthouse and Southern Ohio Medical Center, sit just next door in Portsmouth. A resident here reaches both without a long trip.
