About this Recovery House
The H.O.U.S.E. – Rogers is a coed sober house in Webb City, Missouri, in Jasper County. The H.O.U.S.E., Inc. operates it as one of several recovery homes it has kept open in southwest Missouri since 1996.
A Coed Recovery Home in Southwest Missouri
Men and women live at the Rogers house under one set of house rules. For a lot of applicants the practical question is simpler than the philosophical one: a coed house means the operator can place somebody the week they call instead of holding them for a gender-matched vacancy. Early recovery does not wait well. A bed available now in Webb City is worth more than a better-matched bed six weeks out.
Thirty Years of Recovery Housing Near Joplin
The H.O.U.S.E., Inc. was founded in 1996 on the outskirts of Joplin and has been housing people ever since, through a tornado that flattened a third of the city in 2011 and through the opioid wave that followed. Recovery housing organizations that survive that long build something an applicant can rely on: relationships with local treatment providers, familiarity with the courts, and a reputation among the people who make referrals.
What This Sober Living Home Expects
The expectations in peer-run recovery housing are consistent across the model. Residents stay sober, pay the weekly fee, keep the house clean, attend the house meeting and get to work. Anyone who needs supervision or clinical care during the day belongs in a treatment setting. Anyone who needs somewhere sober to sleep and people who will notice when things slip is looking at the right kind of housing.
Webb City and Jasper County Recovery Resources
Webb City is a Jasper County town of about 13,000 sitting on Route 171 between Joplin and Carthage. Joplin, a few minutes southwest, holds Freeman Health System, Mercy Hospital Joplin, Missouri Southern State University and nearly all of the region's outpatient behavioral health. Carthage, the county seat, holds the courthouse. That geography is the reason recovery homes cluster here: a resident can hold a job, a court date and a treatment appointment in three different towns and still be home for curfew.
Reaching This Webb City Sober Living Home
Applications go to the operator. Ask about the fee, the deposit, the curfew, medication policy, how long residents usually stay, and what the house does when somebody uses. Recovery residence accreditation in Missouri is voluntary through the Missouri Coalition of Recovery Support Providers, so a house's own written answers are what a prospective resident evaluates.
