About this Recovery House
The H.O.U.S.E. – Landon is a coed sober living home in Webb City, Missouri, in Jasper County, one of the recovery homes operated by The H.O.U.S.E., Inc. in the Joplin area since 1996.
A Webb City Sober Living Home in a Working Town
Webb City grew up on lead and zinc mining and now functions as a residential and commercial suburb north of Joplin. Its housing stock is old, its streets are gridded and walkable in the older sections, and its cost of living is well under the national average. All three of those facts matter to somebody in the first year of recovery who is paying a weekly fee out of an entry-level wage. The Landon house is coed and takes men and women into one household.
Peer Recovery Housing Without a Clinical Layer
The H.O.U.S.E., Inc. runs housing. It does not run treatment, and it says so plainly. Residents bring their own outpatient providers, prescribers and meetings, and the house supplies the address, the structure and the accountability around them. That separation is standard in recovery residences, and it is why the model costs a fraction of what residential treatment costs.
Who a Coed Sober House Suits
A coed house asks residents to keep their attention on their own recovery in a household that is not sorted by gender. It suits people with some sober time behind them, people whose support systems are mixed, and people who need a bed quickly. Anyone who knows they need the narrower environment of a men's or women's house should say so at intake, because the operator runs more than one house and can answer that question directly.
Getting Around Jasper County From This Recovery Home
Joplin runs the Sunshine Lamp Trolley, the metro's fixed-route transit, and the Joplin corridor concentrates the employers who hire without a long resume: warehouses, retail, hospitals, restaurants along Range Line Road and Route 66. Carthage, the county seat, is about fifteen minutes northeast on Route 171 for court business. Missouri Southern State University and Crowder College both draw residents who use recovery housing as the stable address behind a degree.
Applying to This Jasper County Sober House
Intake is handled by the operator for all of its houses. The questions worth asking are about money, structure and consequences: fee, deposit, curfew, house manager, medication policy, and what happens on a relapse. Missouri's Department of Mental Health covers treatment licensure in the state, and recovery residences sit outside it, so the operator's own answers are the record.
