About this Recovery House

Woodland House – New Beginning Sanctuary is a women's recovery residence in Springfield, Missouri, operated by New Beginning Sanctuary. Springfield is the seat of Greene County and the commercial center of the Ozarks.

A Women's Sober House Under a Springfield Operator

New Beginning Sanctuary runs this house as a women's home and staffs it around the clock. Residents work, pay weekly, attend recovery meetings and share the running of the household. The organization is a self-funded 501(c)(3), which means the weekly fee, and not a grant cycle, is what keeps the lights on.

What Residents Pay in This Recovery Home

Springfield fees are published: $200 to enroll, $125 for the first week, $125 a week from there. Nothing is refundable and payment is due before the weekly meeting. A resident three weeks in arrears is discharged. Those terms are handed to an applicant before she signs, which is one of the obligations accreditation imposes.

Accreditation and Accountability in Missouri Sober Living

The house is accredited by the Missouri Coalition of Recovery Support Providers. Because Missouri leaves accreditation entirely voluntary, the useful question about any sober house in the state is whether anyone outside it can hold it to a standard. For an accredited residence the answer is documented: ethics code, written disclosures, a relapse policy on paper, and an external complaint route.

Living in Springfield, the Seat of Greene County

Court dates, medical appointments, classes and shifts are all reachable inside one city here, which is rare in southwest Missouri and is why so much of the region's recovery housing sits in Greene County. Women transferring in from smaller Ozarks towns generally find Springfield is the closest place all of it lines up. The address of this residence is not published, and applications go to the operator.
