Laverne's House Women's Recovery House

About this Recovery House

Laverne's House is a women's sober living home in Kansas City, Missouri, in Jackson County, run by Pieces Peace's Traditional Housing Program as one of its three women's residences.

A Women's Sober House Named for Its Founder

Laverne's House carries a personal name, distinguishing it from several sister houses named for their streets in the same program. It offers women a single-gender living environment with shared bedrooms and one set of expectations that applies to every resident.

Part of an Eight-House Kansas City Operator

Pieces Peace's Traditional Housing Program coordinates Laverne's House alongside its other Kansas City properties from an office on Vine Street in the 18th and Vine district. Residents who need a different house within the same organization can raise it with staff who already know them.

Jackson County Services Within Reach

Kansas City holds most of Jackson County's population and infrastructure, with Independence as the official county seat. Laverne's House residents can reach clinics, courts and jobs across the city without leaving Jackson County.

Missouri Certification Stays Voluntary

No Missouri law compels a sober house to certify with the Missouri Coalition of Recovery Support Providers, and Laverne's House's standing with residents depends on its own daily routine.
