Highland House Women's Recovery House

About this Recovery House

Highland House is a women's sober living home on Highland Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri, in Jackson County, run by Pieces Peace's Traditional Housing Program.

A Women's Sober House on Highland Avenue

Highland Avenue sits among the historic named avenues of Kansas City's east side, close to the operator's Vine Street office. Highland House keeps its residents to a single-gender household, with shared bedrooms and rules that apply the same way to every woman living there.

One of Three Women's Houses

Pieces Peace's Traditional Housing Program runs three women's houses in Kansas City, and Highland House is one of them. Keeping women's housing separate from the operator's five men's houses lets each property run its own single-gender routine without complication.

Jackson County and Access to Services

Kansas City is Jackson County's largest city, with Independence as the county seat, and Highland House sits inside the urban core where transit, outpatient clinics and courts are concentrated. That access matters for a woman rebuilding a job and a routine in early recovery.

Certification Remains Voluntary in Missouri

No state law requires Missouri sober houses to certify with the Missouri Coalition of Recovery Support Providers, and Highland House's absence from that voluntary list carries no negative meaning.
