Chipmunk House Men's Recovery House

About this Recovery House

Chipmunk House is a men's sober living home in Joplin, Missouri, operated by New Beginning Sanctuary in Jasper County. Carthage is the county seat, and Joplin is the region's largest city.

A Men's Sober Living Home Near the Kansas Line

Joplin sits a few minutes from the Kansas border and under an hour from Oklahoma, and men come into its sober houses from all three states. This house is single-gender, staffed around the clock, and built for a stay measured in months. Residents keep jobs, pay weekly and take part in house meetings and shared meals.

What Accreditation Buys a Recovery Residence Resident

Accreditation through the Missouri Coalition of Recovery Support Providers is optional in this state, which is exactly what makes it a signal. The residence has agreed to an ethics code, to written disclosure of costs and rules before anyone moves in, to a documented relapse and discharge policy, and to answering complaints in front of the certifying body. A man comparing beds in Joplin can verify all four before he calls.

House Rhythm and Peer Mentorship in Recovery Housing

Certified Peer Specialists work inside the program, and residents further along are expected to help the ones who just arrived. The organization limits phone, television and internet access, runs community meals, and organizes outings including float trips on the Ozark rivers. Volunteering is part of the expectation alongside employment.

Jasper County Services Within Reach of This Sober House

Freeman Health System, Mercy Hospital Joplin, Missouri Southern State University and the Jasper County court offices cover most of what a resident needs to reach in a given month, and the interstate corridor supplies the jobs. The street address of this house is not published, and placement runs through New Beginning Sanctuary.
