About this Recovery House

Cheryl's House is a women's sober living home in St. Louis, Missouri, the smallest of the five properties Mo Better Living operates in the city.

A Six-Bed Women's Sober House

Six women live at Cheryl's House at a time, a size that keeps the household closer to a shared living situation than a dormitory. The monthly rate matches every other Mo Better Living house at five hundred dollars, and a twenty-five dollar fee applies to the application.

What Mo Better Living Expects of Residents

Chores rotate among residents, a weekly house meeting reviews how the week went, and a peer support specialist is assigned to each woman at intake. The house has no live-in staff, so the rules that keep it running depend on residents holding each other to them.

Accepting Medication-Assisted Treatment

Women on methadone or buprenorphine are accepted at Cheryl's House on the same footing as anyone else. Mo Better Living does not treat a prescribed medication as a reason to deny housing, which is not the case at every sober house in the St. Louis area.

One of Five Mo Better Living Sober Homes in St. Louis

Cheryl's House shares its operator with Eleanore's House for women and with Bryan's, John's and Bobby's houses for men. All five sit within the city of St. Louis, and a resident who needs a different house size or a change of housemates is choosing among properties run on the same rules.

ABOUT US Recovery supportive homes are group homes for people who are recovering from substance use disorder. People who live in recovery supportive homes have to follow certain rules and contribute to the home by doing chores. Most importantly, residents must stay sober throughout their stay in the home. Living in this type of environment can support sobriety and help alcoholics or those with substance use disorder adjust to life without their addictions. Many with substance use disorder use recovery supportive housing to help them transition from rehab to living independently without using drugs or alcohol.
