What Voluntary Certification Means in Massachusetts

Massachusetts does not require a sober home to certify with the state, and a house can operate and advertise legally without it. Certification through the Massachusetts Alliance for Sober Housing is voluntary, but it is the one record a resident or family can check independently before moving in.

Recovery Housing in Bristol County

Fall River sits at the southern end of Bristol County, close to the Rhode Island line, with outpatient providers and community resources concentrated in a compact urban core that keeps most services within reach without a car.

What to Ask Before Moving Into This Fall River Sober House

Anyone applying to River Housing should ask whether the house currently holds MASH certification, what the weekly fee covers, and how the house handles a relapse or discharge. Given how little is published about the house otherwise, a direct conversation with the operator is the most reliable way to confirm current fees, openings and rules.
