LaFrance House Men's Sober House

About this Sober House

LaFrance House is a men's sober house in Hyannis, Massachusetts, in Barnstable County.

A Men's Sober House in Hyannis

This sober house serves men in recovery in Hyannis, the commercial and transportation hub of Cape Cod. Hyannis carries year-round services that many smaller Cape towns lack, including ferry and bus connections, a hospital, and a denser concentration of outpatient providers.

Recovery Housing on Cape Cod

Barnstable County covers the entire Cape, and Hyannis functions as its unofficial center even though the town of Barnstable, not Hyannis itself, is the county seat. For men in recovery on Cape Cod, Hyannis is usually the closest place to find year-round recovery housing, since services thin out considerably in the smaller seasonal towns further out on the peninsula.

Getting Around From a Hyannis Sober House

The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority runs bus routes through Hyannis connecting residents to the rest of the Cape, which matters for reaching work, meetings or appointments without a car, especially once the summer tourist traffic that clogs Cape roads has cleared.

What to Ask Before Moving Into This Hyannis Sober House

Applications go directly to LaFrance House. Worth asking whether a bed is currently open, what the weekly fee covers, whether a house manager lives on site, and how the house handles a relapse or an early departure.
