About this Sober House

Erin's House is a women's sober living home in Dracut, Massachusetts, in Middlesex County. It is one of two transitional "Success Homes" run by the Megan House Foundation, a nonprofit that also operates a longer residential treatment program for young women. Established in 2017, Erin's House sits in a quiet residential neighborhood near an established public transportation route.

A Women's Sober House in a Quiet Dracut Neighborhood

The home takes women 18 and older who have completed at least 60 days in recovery from a substance use disorder, whether through Megan's House itself or another treatment program elsewhere. Everyone arrives already past acute early recovery and ready for a transitional setting that supports independence. Dracut's residential streets and public transit access make the day-to-day of work, meetings and appointments manageable without a car.

Structure Shared Across the Foundation's Sober Homes

A House Director oversees Erin's House and its sister home, Emma's House in Lowell, together, providing case management support and running a weekly house meeting for residents at both addresses. Each location also keeps a house manager on site around the clock, giving residents continuity even if they eventually move between the Foundation's homes.

Public Funding Behind This Recovery Residence

Erin's House and its sister home are partially funded by the Massachusetts Bureau of Substance Addiction Services, the state agency responsible for the commonwealth's substance-use treatment and recovery system. That funding signals a house operating inside a recognized public health framework alongside the fees residents pay.

Recovery Housing in Dracut and Middlesex County

Dracut sits just north of Lowell in Middlesex County, and residents of Erin's House draw on the same regional network of outpatient providers, meetings and services that serve the Greater Lowell area. The county is the most populous in Massachusetts, so a resident here is rarely far from a clinic, a court date or a job interview.

The Megan House Foundation's Sober Living Network

Erin's House is one of two Success Homes the Megan House Foundation operates for women transitioning out of treatment, the other being Emma's House in the Belvidere section of Lowell. The Foundation also runs Megan's House, a separate residential treatment program for young women on a different model. A resident who needs a different pace of support can raise that within an organization that already knows her.

The Megan House Foundation is a 501 (C) (3) public charity that was incorporated with the intention to help the Merrimack Valley community and surrounding areas establish a comprehensive plan to provide and facilitate substance abuse treatment services for people in need. The initial stage of their involvement is the development of long-term residential treatment homes for both women and men. The Megan House Foundation is always looking for volunteer help from all trades including framing, electrical, plumbing, drywall, finished carpentry, roofing, siding, painting, masonry, HVAC, road excavation and paving. Other volunteer opportunities include: -Indoor painting -Yard work & gardening -At our various fundraisers -Women in recovery who are available to sponsor or do a commitment of “recovery, strength and hope”
