About The Megan House Foundation

The Megan House Foundation is a nonprofit sober living operator based in Dracut, Massachusetts, running two transitional "Success Homes" for women in the Greater Lowell area of Middlesex County. Beyond its housing, the Foundation also operates Megan's House, a longer residential treatment program for young women, giving it a footprint that spans both clinical treatment and sober living.

A Women's Sober Living Operator in Greater Lowell

The Foundation runs its Success Homes as transitional housing for women who have already completed at least 60 days in recovery from a substance use disorder, whether at Megan's House itself or elsewhere. Women arrive with some sobriety established and are looking for structure and community while they rebuild routine.

Two Sober Homes in Dracut and Lowell

The Megan House Foundation operates:

• Erin's House, on Gumpus Road in Dracut, established in 2017.
• Emma's House, in the Belvidere neighborhood of Lowell, opened in 2023.

The two towns sit next to each other along the Merrimack River corridor, and a House Director oversees both homes together, so moving between them does not mean leaving the same case management or the same weekly house meeting.

Case Management Across Both Sober Homes

A House Director coordinates case management support for residents at both addresses and runs a weekly house meeting for each. Each home also keeps a house manager on site at all hours, a two-tier structure consistent across the Foundation's entire sober living network.

State-Supported Recovery Housing

Both Success Homes are partially funded by the Massachusetts Bureau of Substance Addiction Services. Public funding alongside resident fees ties the Foundation's homes into the state's broader substance-use treatment and recovery system.

A Broader Program Beyond Sober Living

The Megan House Foundation's work extends past its two Success Homes to Megan's House, a separate residential treatment program for young women that runs on a longer timeline than transitional sober living. Women who complete that program, or a comparable one elsewhere, become eligible for Erin's House or Emma's House, giving the Foundation a continuum from treatment into independent living.

Serving Dracut and Lowell in Middlesex County

Dracut and Lowell sit in Middlesex County, the most populous county in Massachusetts, and both towns give residents access to a wide network of outpatient providers, meetings and services along the Merrimack River corridor. Women applying to either Success Home work directly with the Foundation, which manages placement, eligibility and the transition out of treatment as a single process.
