About this Sober House

Basis Recovery Men's Sober House is a men's sober house in Dorchester, Boston, Massachusetts, in Suffolk County. It is one of two Basis Recovery residences, paired with a women's house the operator runs in nearby Roxbury.

A Men's Sober House in Dorchester

Basis Recovery Men's Sober House serves men in recovery in Dorchester, one of Boston's largest neighborhoods. Dorchester's size means residents have outpatient providers, MBTA bus and Red Line service, and job opportunities within the neighborhood itself, without needing to travel across the city for basics.

Part of a Two-House Operator

Basis Recovery runs this Dorchester men's house alongside a separate women's sober house in Roxbury, giving the organization experience housing both men and women across two addresses. A resident whose situation changes has an established second address the operator already runs.

Recovery Housing in Suffolk County

Suffolk County is Boston's home county, and Dorchester sits inside the city's largest concentration of treatment providers, courts and transit. A men's sober house here puts residents close to the services most likely to matter in early recovery, from outpatient counseling to job placement programs.

What to Ask Before Moving Into This Sober House

Applications go directly to Basis Recovery. Worth asking whether a bed is currently open, what the weekly fee covers, whether a house manager lives on site, and how the house handles a relapse or an early departure.
