Serenity Inns Inc
About Serenity Inns
Serenity Inns is a faith-based recovery housing operator in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, serving men in Milwaukee County through a three-stage residential and transitional program.
A Faith-Based Approach to Men's Recovery
Serenity Inns builds its program around three stages: Recovery, covering supportive living with group sessions and individualized therapy; Stability, focused on employment and career building; and Spirit, centered on faith-based practices and community service. The approach is described as holistic, addressing physical, emotional and spiritual dimensions together.
ASAM-Based Admission Standards
Admission requires meeting ASAM criteria for residential treatment, being at least 18, being employable and able to work full time, and having a minimum of three days of verified clean time. Candidates arrive either through referral from certified AODA treatment centers and detox facilities, or through self-referral.
A Growing Milwaukee Provider
Serenity Inns opened a new residential treatment facility in September 2024 and is running a capital campaign to support continued expansion. The program runs up to seven months, based on individual need, instead of a fixed length for every resident.
Operating Without WASH Certification
Serenity Inns does not currently appear on the Wisconsin Association of Sober Housing's certified list. Certification through WASH is voluntary, and a faith-based residential treatment provider working under ASAM criteria represents a different model than the peer-run sober housing WASH was built to certify.
Serving Milwaukee County
Serenity Inns works inside Milwaukee County's recovery infrastructure, accepting referrals from the county's certified AODA treatment centers and detox facilities and drawing on the Milwaukee County Transit System to connect residents to employment during the Stability phase.
